Product Description

Critical Care Ivermectin Spray is a veterinary medicine containing ivermectin. It is intended for use only on rabbits & guinea-pigs, but is very effective on red mites, ticks and lice infestation in chickens and is highly recommended for curing small pets of the burrowing mites that cause mange. Never use Ivermectin on Collie dogs as a genetic issue in the breed renders the product extremely toxic and sometimes fatal. Whilst treating lice and mites in chickens, the active ingredient (ivermectin) is also effective against scaly leg mites and some types of roundworms.

Directions

This product will only work if the liquid solution reaches the skin so it must be sprayed against the lie of the feathers. Using a gloved hand, stroke the back feathers toward to head to reveal the skin beneath and spray one good puff onto the affected area. Ivermectin is absorbed into the skin and reaches the lice and mites the next time they drink blood from your bird. If treatment is required on the head, use a cotton wool ball which has been sprayed and apply this to affected areas rather than spraying directly onto your hen’s head. The spray must not enter the nostrils, beak or eyes. Do not use on chicks. The treatment can be repeated after 10 days.

Not to be used on animals destined for human consumption (egg withdrawal is recommended for 1 week after treatment). Recommended/Approved for use only on guinea pigs, pet rabbits and rats, may be used on chickens/pigeons and other birds after veterinary advice. Do not use on other species without veterinary advice. Serious reactions, including deaths, have been reported in dogs (especially Collies, Old English Sheep Dogs and related breeds), also in tortoises and turtles treated with products containing the active substance. Not to be used on sick or recovering animals. Not to be used on pregnant or nursing animals. Wear gloves while applying the product. Avoid contact with skin and eyes. In case of contact, wash with plenty of water. Contact a doctor immediately if there is any impairment to vision. Do not eat, drink or smoke while applying the product.
